At least five people were killed and 17 injured following a multi-vehicle collision involving a semi-truck in Texas on Thursday night, authorities said.

Multiple adults, children and an infant were involved in the collision late Thursday night, the Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services said.

Austin Police said at least four people died in a crash involving ten vehicles on Interstate 35 in far north Austin late Thursday night. Austin Police posted at 11:58 p.m. that all southbound lanes of the interstate were closed in the area between Parmer and Howard Lanes.
