Millions of people were left without electricity as a near-nationwide blackout struck Chile on Tuesday, February 25, according to authorities.The country’s disaster management agency, Senapred, said a “massive power outage” was impacting regions from Arica y Parinacota in the north of Chile to Los Lagos in the south.

Chile’s president has declared a state of emergency after an electricity blackout plunged most of the country into darkness on Tuesday, including the capital Santiago.
