In a social media post Monday, the Austin Firefighters Association blasted Fire Chief Joel Baker for waiting to send local firefighters to Kerr County to help with flood response.

At least 82 people are dead after heavy rain led to "catastrophic" flooding in Texas. Kerr County was hit the hardest, with at least 75 deaths, including 27 children. President Donald Trump signed a disaster declaration for the county and the Federal Emergency Management Agency is on the ground there.

As of Sunday, at least 38 adults and 21 children have been confirmed dead in Kerr County, with additional deaths reported in nearby counties. Eleven girls and a counselor from the all-girls Camp Mystic, a beloved summer spot of many D-FW area children for nearly a century, remain missing.
