South Korean authorities asked a court to authorize a warrant for the arrest of suspended President Yoon Suk Yeol on insurrection allegations following a short-lived bid to impose martial law at the start of the month.

South Korea's Joint Investigation Team has sought an arrest warrant for President Yoon Suk Yeol, accusing him of insurrection and abuse of power related to his short-lived martial law declaration on 3 December 2023.
