If you know the dimensions, and that all studs are either 16 or 24 o/c, it is not that hard to figure out from there. It was how it was done before computers became the norm, and is still done on the fly.

Dec 16, 2006 · It appears that the wall framing was built with "Rotate end studs" checked in the default wall framing DBX. This saves lumber but provides less "meat". Uncheck this, and rebuild wall framing, and the corners will have more studs. You can open any individual wall framing detail window and adjust any of the framing members there, as well.

Jan 14, 2020 · FYI Autocad Arch is 1600/year. The Revit add-on is 2300/year. The Civil 3D add-on is 2300/year. They've got packages of all three for 2800/year. Now SketchUp is free (or it was) and you can do it in that, but it's not a framing software at all, it's just a drawing program with some 3D rendering capability.

Apr 28, 2013 · I spent a few minutes and am not sure I found what I remember but two possibilities for software that does framing details that popped up a time or two: punchsoftware.com. chiefarchitect.com (premier edition was mentioned) I could swear someone had posted a framing detail example from one of the packages not long ago.

Dec 17, 2006 · In any event, 1) You can select a wall, and click on the wall detail icon, and edit any of the studs in that wall.(Or move, stretch, add a post, add blocking) Those overlapping studs can be cleaned up in about 10 sec.'s per wall, even without futzing around with the foundations.

Oct 14, 2024 · Strengthening wall framing to support cabinetry. I’m planning on using this wall to build a wet bar and tap off the existing plumbing for the bathroom on the other side. To accommodate the plumbing , the builder framed this wall pretty haphazardly. The odd and inconsistent spacing definitely makes it a bit flimsy.

My question is I have a span of 9 foot of windows in my concrete wall and now I am wondering what size header do I need to span the opening for minimum deflection. Some sites said that if it was a non load bearing wall a 2 x 4 laid flat was all that was needed.

Sep 21, 2019 · You may have to check and prepare wall to the foundation joints, example. May have to add footing drains. Don't attach the framing to the wall and once the roof/ceiling framings are up, attach the wall framing to the floor and upper framing. On the side its a fence, and the back part of it is fence and part building.
