The Office of Inspector General (OIG) was established pursuant to the Inspector General Act of 1978 (5 U.S.C. app. 3). OIG’s mission is to promote economy, efficiency, and integrity in U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) programs and operations through the successful execution of audits, investigations, and reviews.
