Nov 5, 2021 · 2024 Mac Mini M4 Pro has the highest max power consumption of any previous Mac Mini at 140W and in a smaller chassis so high fan noise is not surprising. Wonder what decisions drove them to a smaller chassis when it makes more common sense to go with larger heat sink in a larger chassis to keep fan noise minimal.

Tested in all versions of Sequoia (including latest Public Beta 2). This is despite 8k/60hz fully working over HDMI (which is the same horizontal resolution as HiDPI 4k).

You cant buy the base mini and add the Pro chip. You can only get the M4 Pro when you buy the Mac mini variant that also comes with 24GB Ram and 512 SSD.
