McCutcheon Hall opened in 1963 and was named for John T. McCutcheon, an editorial cartoonist for the Chicago Tribune. John T. McCutcheon was born on May 6, 1870, in Tippecanoe County, the home of Purdue University.

McCutcheon is a solid living experience. The rooms are standard for a freshman dorm and have a decent bit of storage space built in between the closet and under the bed. The bathrooms were somewhat recently remodeled so they're in good condition, but they are communal which can make taking a shower at peak hours difficult, plus little privacy.

McCutcheon is great in many ways (and not in a few). The rooms themselves are really nice and pretty spacious and the bathrooms have recently been updated so are very clean. Also the general areas are nice and new and theres a computer lab which is great for printing.

Jul 22, 2021 · I like a quiet atmosphere and I'm an introvert so McCutcheon Hall seems like a really good residence hall for me. Do you recommend bringing a bike to get to classes though?

McCutheon is a nice and cozy hall with its own privacy compared to other halls which are clustered together. I stayed in McCutheon for freshmen year as a part of LC. The computer lab is convinient and is only accessible to people with McCutheon dorm key.
