Even the slightest bit of vibration caused by people walking past the socket, can cause the connection to fail. The two parts are only held together by clips, unlike earlier sockets that were screwed together.

Even better if you can connect one to the router using a cable, as then not only can you use a different SSID, but even different WiFi channels!

Unless you have FTTP, you will need either a modem/router or separate modem. The R7000P doesn't have a built in modem. If you have G.Fast, suitable devices are very limited.
