Aug 16, 2007 · It's not per se. Though sometimes a pinwheel with zoom with is annoying. But the M1 is 16gb 512ssd. It's in my bedroom. My office has the M2 Pro 16gb 512gb. Basically I would trade in M1, move the M2 Pro up into my room in its place and put the M4 machine where the M2 is in my office. But debating whether to up to 24gb and/or just go m4 pro.

Dec 24, 2020 · I had 32 Gb on my previous Mac mini i3 Intel box, and 'upgraded' to the M1 Mac mini with 16 Gb. If for no other reason than as so many have suggested, I'd get 16 Gb so you have some elbow room. My new M1 Mac mini performs several functions much slower than my i3, which I write off to less memory and not yet optimized software.

May 17, 2014 · One more suggestion for OP: if you can hold out for an M3 Mac Mini launch (conceptually this year), the M2 option will likely drop in price comparable to M1 options now, so then you could consider the full 7 + 2 years with an M3 Mini vs. what should be added cost savings with M2 Mini now one formal generation behind in the Mac Mini model.

Apr 1, 2023 · I have an M1 MBA w/8GB & just got an M2 mini with w/16GB. The air is just used as my sofa machine and doesn't do much but surf and email. Still, if I had it to do over again I'd spring for 16GB. Running Brave with a bunch of tabs open puts the memory pressure in the yellow so I usually run Firefox on it.
