May 31, 2019 · Ray Hillenbrand peacefully passed away in Rochester, Minnesota from a progressive lung disease, surrounded by his family and close friends. He was an exemplary son and husband, an extraordinary father and grandfather, and was deeply devoted to his parents, wife, children and grandchildren.

Raymond J. Hillenbrand was born August 28, 1934. He grew up in Batesville, IN where, being the adventurous lad that he was, caused a variety of excitement for the local townsfolk. Ultimately though, Ray had to grow up, and when he did he excelled at education.
