Unlike Remington, Franchi, and others (who merely re-stock or re-brand other makers' guns in Turkey), S&W built their own plants, and wholly-owns two long gun factories with brand new (2006) CNC and assembly equipment.

The stock is coming along this is four coats of Tru Oil. Shows a bit lighter in the photo than it does in person. Two more coats tomorrow and then some wax.

Sep 4, 2021 · With the Howa 3000, that isn't a problem, you just rack the slide and keep on going. I've owned several of the 3000s in the past, they are superbly made, much better than the Remingtons of the same time-frame. Remington eventually copied the Howa's internals so that they could also be racked if a shell slid past the slide stop.
Smith & Wesson 12 gauge pump action Eastfield Model 916-A
Mar 29, 2009 · A little late on the post and new to the forum, but had to chime in about my Eastfield 916-a 12 ga. I bought mine at a pawn shop for $100. It was a little difficult to find a replacement stock for it, but I finally did. After a day of shooting clays I shaved a little off of that stock and put a 1" Remington soft recoil pad on.

Oct 12, 2018 · Remington eventually copied that feature on the later 870s, after the Howas shamed them into it. The 3000s were usually slicker straight out of the box than a Remington, too, another plus. Howa has always made excellent quality firearms, too, and the finish was always better on the 3000s than any Remington I've ever owned.

Oct 28, 2023 · I found this gem at a auction today. J. Stevens Arms & Tool 235 12 gauge double barrel shotgun with 32 inch barrels. The little research I have done on this shotgun, I found that J. Stevens Arms & Tools labeled 235's were produced from 1909-1915. 1916-1932 235's were marked as J. Stevens Arms, dropping "& Tool" in 1916.
