What do you like about retro games MORE than modern games?
Sadly, both retro-inspired indies, and the original devs themselves, seem to have forgotten that old games were never intended to be viewed pixel-perfect. Manuals giving way more info than they needed to - they were essentially worldbuilding novels or even full guides at times, like with Zelda 1's map or Earthbound's player guide.

Pixelated graphics are very popular in the indie space now, so 8-bit, 16-bit, and even 32-bit retro pixel games fit in perfectly. Early 3D games are really starting to show their age, which is why remakes like Crash and Spyro I think are more popular alternatives.

I usually go under 'retro' for these streams unless the game is really well known and has a lot of followers on Twich. Jan 6, 2022 · Mario Kart in some post-SNES form. Ogre Battle and Tactics Ogre are RPG-strategy games in the vein of Final Fantasy Tactics. Zombies Ate My Neighbors (SNES). Apparently the Steam port is awful, but the game itself is good. Super Mario Bros 3 and Super Mario World are probably the best 2D Mario games and still hold up.
