After recieving pump I realized that I needed the adapter to hook hoses to the input and output connectors since I have a smaller pool. Would have been nice to know this so could have ordered them at the same time and not have to pay extra shiiping to rush the item from the intex website. The $6 part cost $22 to get it here before 4th of july. But it all works great now.

This sand filter pump has only been installed for 5 days at the time of this review. So far everything is working as expected. This replaced a larger one which had a llife span of 6 yrs. It seems to be just as effective as the previous one. This filter, however, is much quieter. The digital controls are a big plus as well.

Make sure you watch the DVD. I bought this pump and used it on our pool that's not the same brand but after a retro fit, it works great :) the water is crystal clear and it really moves the water. I really do like this pump and filter. I would defiantly recommend it to anyone that is looking for a strong pump and great filter system.

This pump was easy to install and worked really good for the first summer…it doesn't appear to be made from quality parts though…I've already had to replace 2 parts and it's only the 2nd summer!!! The first pump, the original pump that came with my pool, worked for 7 years before it started having problems!!!

We set up our new intex pool using well water, only to have it turn coffee with cream colored after adding chlorine. We spent hundreds of dollars on chemicals trying to get the iron out of the pool. After trying for almost a week, we ordered the Intex Krystal Clear Sand Filter. Once it arrived, we got it all hooked up in a matter of 15 minutes, and running. We ran it constantly for 3 days, only adding chlorine, and ph minus to the water,and back washed frequently. I was so happy to wake up on the 3rd day to crystal clear water! I honestly didn't know if this was going to be the answer to our problem, and really thought that I was going to have to empty the pool and start all over again. This filter is awesome and well worth the money! If you have well water, just save yourself the trouble and go get one of these right from the start!

We bought this halfway through summer after buying and setting up the Intex 22'x52" pool. The filter that comes with the pool is a cheap paper cartridge filter system and I felt like it never got the pool completely clean. We added this sand filter after I saw the price drop online, and it is so much easier! No more spending $20 at a time for cartridge filters. (Intex really should just offer this pump with the bigger pools!!!) We also have the Intex Ozone saltwater system that I bought local from someone. Together the water has stayed nice and clean. I have not had to shock the water since I bought the sand filter. (I had to shock it 3 times with the old filter).\nSet up was ok, just follow the directions! This pump is also much more powerful and really circulates the water! Does just what it says it should do.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love that this has a digital control panel that shows if there is low salt or high salt content in the pool water. The salt seems to help keep the pool water a bit more clear longer.

At first I thought we had ordered the wrong pool filter pump and would need to return it for a refund; However I realized that it was the model we needed for our pool.

I liked the filter its self,but it was slightly damaged while being shipped.It was easy to assemble. But the part that was damaged , held the filter level.

Had to learn about the pump to understand how it worked. I had to backwash for a few days, but after that, it’s been running smoothly.

This is a great pump. We had to get more parts for it to connect with our pool and we are still working it get it to work correctly

Bought this to replace the standard cartridge filter pump that came with our Intex 16' x 16' x 48" square pool. \n\nThe old pump ran 24-hours a day and couldn't keep the water from turning cloudy. We had to rinse filter cartridges about every day and replace them every few days. Not a problem with this sand filter pump. It's set to turn on for 6 hours a day and the water is crystal clear.\n\nAlso, the higher GPH allows this pump to drive a top skimmer and vacuum, whereas our old pump couldn't get the vacuum to move.\n\nOverall, I'm very happy with this sand filter pump. It has made a huge difference in the quality of our pool this year.

New to pool ownership and maintenance. We have a Coleman Powersteel 18 foot pool from Walmart and while it is a very well-made pool, the filter is just too small. We found this filter for $150 and what a difference it has made in keeping the pool clean! You can see it working. I still skim it just about every day and brush it weekly and the pool looks fantastic and chemicals seem to last longer. It is quiet and I love the timer. I run it about 6 hours everyday. I would not hesitate on getting this filter. You will need a 50lb bag of pool sand from the hardware store. Costs less than $15.

This is the 2nd pump I have had to buy for my pool and I was shocked at the price when I realized it came with the sand filter, cover, hoses, gauge and literally everything. I've bought piece parts over the years off the Intex store directly to know that a pump alone costs 150 and just the top cover with the handle off the sand filter is a $60 value itself. This doesn't even include hoses (and yes the rubber water-tight connections are included). Even though I only needed the pump I know within the next 2 years everything else will need replaced so I'm storing it all in the shed

So far so good. This pump has major power. \nIt's like a sauna in my 15' intex pool. \nDid a pre set up in my living room when it arrived. This is when I brainstormed about how to make the 1.5" connections work with my 1.25" original hoses. I opted to purchase intex hose adapters from amazon (see pictures) so I could use my existing 1.25" hoses. I did add metal hose clamps at the attached areas to the pump. \nI'm so excited not to fight with paper filters anymore. By the way, I'm a female and installed it in about 30-45 minutes.

We have a 22ft round intex pool. We could not get it to stay clean and algae build up wouldn't go away. We were gonna take it down but decided to try a new filter. \nBest decision ever! Very easy to assemble. Uses about 70 lbs of sand. Which will run around $20.00 but lasts 5 years. \nVery powerful! Cleared our pool in a day. Now we only have to run it for about 4 hours or less per day. And no filters to rinse. Just vaccuum and backwash the dirty water. \nHighly recommended, and you can't beat the price. Good quality, very durable.

Leaks from leaf trap O ring and let's in a lot of air. Can't find a replacement that size anywhere! Had to order from intex which was $3 but $12 shipping. Hard to get ahold of their customer service. Had to buy a lot of adapters and new clamps for it to hook up to a best way pool. Hoping when the new o ring gets here it will be a decent pump. Also I really feel like it should have come with a hose to use on the drain hole. If you don't have one be prepared to water to shoot out like a fire hydrant like it did to me.

Filter is up and running. This filter is simple to operate. Watch the DVD that comes with it. The timer is sweet: 2,4,6,8 hour cycles. One knock is its a bit noisy. Also, if using on summer escapes pool the 1 1/4 hose connectors will not matchup, as the intex is 1 1/2 inch. Had to order some adapters to make it all work, but no fault on index. Extra 30 bucks was worth it. Could not find the sand at wal-mart, had to get that from a pool store. Love seeing all the nasty water when back flushing. Good bye paper filters!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm glad I had the opportunity to try this because for the past couple of months I've been considering getting a filter for our above ground pool. There was always sludgy algae on the bottom and I rarely trusted swimming in it. After using this the water looked like a public pool, clear as day and clean. My skin wasn't irritated as it sometimes gets with a lower quality filter. I am so glad I got this and recommend it. Worth the buy in my opinion.

Pay attention,\nWas looking for sand filter / saltwater generator system and clicked the smaller filter in the options, I overlooked the fact they had just filters in the options with filter/generator options.\nBad options layout, works pretty well though, super easy setup. Pressure gauge placement is awkward being in the back which I see as a design flaw at least from an aesthetics standpoint, hard to keep things neat and tidy when setting up when you need to view 360 degrees of the unit.

Going from the stock filter that came with my Intex 15' round pool to this filter was a big improvement. However if your pool is very dirty, like mine was, you're going to have to backwash the sand atleast 3-4 times a day until clean. I guess my expectations were slightly elevated now that the filter has been working for a week. I can truly see it does make a difference with the sand.\nYou should buy this filter with the pool and save the headaches of an inadequate filtration system.

Excellent quality pump, valve and tank. While the value can't be beet it is the performance that really makes me happy. No more poor suction or daily cleaning of the cartridge filter. This is the filter that should come with higher end Intex pools! I also have the Intex salt water system in line with this filter. Both of these items reduce the pool maintenance to 10% of what it was. No more green pool! I highly recommend the investment to make your pool more enjoyable this summer.
