This summer major restoration works began on The Royal Mausoleum at Frogmore. The Royal Mausoleum was built in 1862, shortly after the death of Prince Albert, and is the final resting place of The Prince Consort and Queen Victoria. Now over 150 years old, The Royal Mausoleum has for some time been exposed to complex damp issues and been affected by water damage. Royal Air Force Air Cadets from Trent Wing Air Cadets gathered at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission plot in Scopwick Church Burial Ground last weekend to remember those Commonwealth air force personnel who died during the Second World War. This includes Pilot Officer John Gillespie Magee, who is buried in the plot, with his headstone bearing a line from his famous poem: “Oh I have slipped the surly bonds of earth... 🔴‼️NEWS: The Funeral of Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Kent will take place at Westminster Cathedral on Tuesday, 16th September at 2pm. Ahead of the Funeral, The Duchess of Kent’s coffin will rest in the private chapel at Kensington Palace. The King and Queen and Members of the Royal Family will join The Duke of Kent and members of The Duchess’s family at the Requiem Mass. Afterwards, the coffin will be taken by hearse to the Royal Burial Ground at Frogmore, Windsor. #princessofwales #prince
