Logging old-growth forests has led to a steep decline in the spotted owl population. These small birds rely on ancient forests to survive and with their habitat dwindling, so are their numbers. 🚨 HOWEVER 🚨 After 21 years of delays, the Canadian government is about to release their Spotted Owl Recovery Strategy (as required by their own Species At Risk Act). The recovery strategy will include: 🌲 4,000 sq km of old-growth forests designated as critical habitat. 🦉 2,000 sq km that had zero prot
