The force was strong at the 50th Academy Awards when George Lucas’ ‘Star Wars’ was nominated for 10 Oscars. The film earned nominations for Actor in a Supporting Role (Alec Guinness), Directing (George Lucas), Best Picture, Original Screenplay and won for Art Direction, Costume Design, Film Editing, Original Score, Sound and Visual Effects.
