Freedom Friday! A Common Murre was brought to PWC in late January from Oceano. The adult bird was reportedly found weak on the beach. Common Murres are black and white seabirds, (sometimes mistaken for penguins), that live on the open ocean. Their name comes from the murmuring sound like a cross between a purr and a growl they make when communicating with each other.
